Privacy Policy
The Calling is a pilot project that helps believers discern where they are called to serve. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and how we use it.
Who we are
What we collect
When you use The Calling, we may collect:
- Account details you provide (such as name and email).
- The text and voice conversations you have with our AI guide.
- Reflections, gifts, season, and availability you share during the conversation.
- Basic usage data — pages visited, device type, approximate location from IP, and timestamps.
How we use it
Your information is used to:
- Match you with ministry and mission opportunities that fit your gifts and season.
- Improve the quality of the conversation and matching experience.
- Communicate with you about your account or significant updates.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we share it
We only share your information when:
- You explicitly ask us to (for example, expressing interest in a specific opportunity).
- A trusted service provider helps us run the platform (such as Google for AI processing). They process data on our behalf only.
- We are required to do so by law.
AI processing
Your conversations are processed by large language models (currently provided by Google and OpenRouter). Audio sent during voice calls is processed in real time. We do not knowingly retain audio recordings after the call ends.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you with the service. You may request deletion at any time by writing to j.chen@wec-uk.org.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain uses. Email us to exercise any of these rights.
Security
We use industry-standard protections (encrypted transport, access controls). No system is perfectly secure, so please don't share sensitive information you wouldn't feel comfortable being read by another human.
Changes
As this is a pilot, we may update this policy. If we make material changes we'll notify you by email or through the app.
